Strawberry Jalapeño Margarita

Instructions

Makes about three margaritas, depending on glass size

Combine strawberries, tequila, orange juice (I used blood orange juice to get it this beautiful red color), jalapeño, lime juice, agave nectar, and a pinch or two of pink sea salt in the blender and mix well.

Moisten the rim of your margarita glasses with the wedge of a lime, then dip the glass in the pink sea salt to coat the rim of each glass.

Add crushed ice to each one of the margarita glasses, then garnish with a slice each of orange, lime, and strawberry, and set aside.

Prepare a cocktail shaker cup with crushed ice then add the margarita mix that you mixed in the blender. Cover cocktail shaker and shake margarita mix well.

Pour margaritas into each prepared glass, then top with two or three thin slices of jalapeño each. Enjoy!

9 Tips to Spice Up Your Valentine’s Day

Aside from this delicious spicy margarita, you might be looking to spice up your Valentine’s Day even more! After all, just going out to dinner on Valentine’s Day can be a little basic – if you know what we mean. Been there, done that. Restaurants are crowded, menus are set, and prices are raised.

Why not do something a little more spicy? Here are some ideas that maybe you’ll consider next week 😉

1. Consider making dinner at home together!

Send the kids to their grandparents’ house, light the candles, pour some champagne, and draw a bubble bath. You might even consider hiring a cleaning service before hand, so you won’t be stressing about all you have to do in terms of house chores.

2. Get a hotel room for the night and make it a staycation.

A mini getaway is always a good way to spark the flames! Before checking out the next morning, order room service and enjoy breakfast in bed.

3. Send your partner on a scavenger hunt where you are the ultimate prize!

Make it fun. Create some adventure between the two of you. Laughter and humor and fun will surely draw you closer together.

4. Create a coupon book of sorts for your partner.

Fill it with sexy, romantic, and fun ideas — all redeemable whenever he or she wants to claim the coupon!

5. Put special thought into your gifting.

Come on, ladies – let’s move away from the stereotypical, generic gift giving. Think about what your partner truly likes, and build a gift around that. Maybe he loves a certain sports team, so you buy tickets to a game. Or, maybe you two love going to concerts together, so you frame tickets from all your previous concerts. Is he moved by music? Maybe you make a special playlist with all his favorites.

6. Start the celebration early.

No need to wait until dinner to start the romance. Make it fun all day! Flirt, like you used to do in the early days of dating. Send text messages. Give him a call. Send her flowers. Extend the excitement. Build the anticipation. Enjoy the entire day.

7. Buy a new outfit that makes you feel sexy.

That can be a treat for both of you, if you know what we mean! Ha. Another option: tell your partner your size, a store you love, and let him or her pick out something special. Or, just go shopping together.

8. Schedule a couples massage

If you are always on the go and have trouble slowing down for time together, maybe this is a good way to start the romantic evening. Let the stress of your days melt away!

9. Pretend you’re on a first date with each other again.

Yes, look at each other with fresh eyes. Act as if you just met. Ask all the questions one does on a first date. You never know what you may learn and how you might connect!
