The Designer : Zimmermann
Zimmermann : I’ve been eyeing this Australian designer label for more than a year now. Recently, I finally picked up my first Zimmermann piece – this Net-a-Porter exclusive printed crepe dress. Allow me to share a bit about the label
In the early 1990s, Australian Nicky Zimmermann found herself designing swimsuits in her parents’ garage. Then she would sell them at local markets. She quickly received recognition for the stylish swimwear. So, she and sister Simone joined forces in 1991 to launch the family namesake line.
The duo has become known for their sporty, yet feminine vibes. The pieces often have feminine prints, but in strong silhouettes. That juxtaposition of strong and soft adds such interest to the pieces. They focus on ready-to-wear clothes with a jet set flair, plus their signature swimwear.
Fortunately for us, Zimmermann’s popularity now carries them well beyond the borders of Australia. See below for our top 20 pieces currently available.
