How to Create the Most Colorful Funfetti Waffle Station

Perfect for a family brunch.

How to Create the Most Colorful Waffle Buffet

When it comes to the weekends, we want relaxation, fun, and ease. After a long week of work, it’s time to enjoy time with family and friends and take it easy. And one of our favorite pastimes is brunch at home. We don’t do it nearly enough, but it’s so nice and special to have a nice family brunch in the comfort of your own home. Nothing fancy (pajamas required!), but it can still be so much fun and something the kids can get involved with, too.

Funfetti Waffle Station

Yes, waffles are delicious on their own, but they’re even better when they’re funfetti waffles! Think : funfetti cake, but in waffle form. Yes, it’s as good as it sounds. So, for this brunch set up, we enlisted the help of our dear friend Marla Murphy of The Blonde Pantry, and she helped bring this colorful vision of ours to life! As well, Jamie Lewis of Jamie Lewis Artistry created this unbelievable watercolor backdrop, which we can’t stop gushing over.

And creating a funfetti waffle station of your own is actually very easy! And, as a bonus, it’s not as unhealthy as you might think!

What You Need

Protein Packed Waffle Mix

Sprinkles to go in the waffles

Sprinkles to go on top

Nuts

Marshmallows

Cherries

Mini Chocolate Chips

Coconut Whip Cream

Food Coloring

Fresh Strawberries

Fresh Blueberries

and whatever else you desire!

Instructions

Follow the instructions on the back of the waffle mix box. It only requires adding water and a bit of oil. And don’t forget to add those sprinkles in!

Cook waffles per the instruction on the box.

Mix the coconut whip cream with the different colors of food coloring.

Once they’re done, add as many (or as little) toppings as you’d like. We used more sprinkles, nuts, marshmallows, cherries, mini chocolate chips, colorful whip cream, strawberries, and blueberries

Enjoy!

Kid Friendly and (Relatively) Healthy

See, it’s simple and fun! And the kids will absolutely love it. You can set up each of the toppings in little bowls and let them decorate them however they’d like. Of course, some of the toppings aren’t so extremely healthy (but everything in moderation, right?!), but if you use the protein packed waffle mix, coconut whip cream, and fresh fruit, it really is a healthier take on waffles, which is always a bonus.

The Buffet Set Up

Our Mark & Graham large buffet board was the perfect piece to use for our waffle station. Because of it’s size (3 feet long!), we were able to set up the waffles on it perfectly, with extra room to spare. It’s really a great piece that will be used well beyond waffles (think : charcuterie, cheese, bagels, and the list goes on). If you don’t need such a big piece, this exact buffet board comes in a smaller size, as well as other shapes, too.

Any of these items make such great gifts, whether housewarming, engagement, or bridal shower. It’s one of those items that will be used time and time again. And the personalization adds such a nice and special touch.

Below we’ve pulled together some other items that would be perfect for your next at home brunch.
