Words of Wisdom
by Julie Weinstein
Rumor has it we, as humans, have approximately 50,000 thoughts that run through our heads daily. 50,000! That’s crazy sounding, right?
Those thoughts might be conscious or subconscious, but they enter your mind no matter for how short or long.
Now, it’s not surprising that we can feel indecisive at times given the fact that so many thoughts run through our heads each day. In fact, it makes sense why we can feel indecisiveness and anxiety on various topics and situations.
I mean, how does one even make sense of 50,000 thoughts?! It sounds overwhelming if you ask me.
And I feel like I might have up to 75,000 thoughts running through my head each day, ha! Anyone else ever feel that way? Sometimes I’ll be driving and my mind is just spinning. There are so many different things going through my mind at any given time, and it is not only anxiety-inducing, but also exhausting.
By nature, I’ve always been somewhat of an indecisive person. But as I’ve gotten older (and I like to think wiser!) and as I’ve gotten to know myself better and better, the indecisiveness blurs into decisiveness. And not necessarily at the speed of light; I still go back and forth on things often, but once I make a decision, whether big or small, it feels so good.
