Friday is finally here! First of all, is it me or has everything been a bit hectic lately? Must be the change of seasons, or not… Yesterday Punxsutawney Phil, the official groundhog of Groundhog Day, saw his shadow and declared six more weeks of winter. Bummer. We’re already in beach mode.

Speaking of the beach, we’re clearly ready for warmer weather. Last week, Hunt Slonem’s ‘Pillow Painting’ inspired us with its tropical hues and floral patterns. This week? We’re continuing the beachy vibes and adding a touch of Valentine’s Day – all inspired by Gray Malin’s photograph –  ‘Heart Balloons’.

Firs of all, in the quick second that Carrie introduced me to Malin’s work, I fell in love! Malin’s photographs reflect places he’s been through his unique vantage point. Using bucket list travel destinations as his canvas so to speak, Malin produces the most gorgeous and highly unique photos. Indeed, his gift to find natural beauty is refreshingly beautiful!

Considering that we’re already in beach mode, have you seen Gray’s first monograph, Beaches? Released last summer, the gorgeous coffee table book is a New York Times Best Seller. It’s definitely something to check out and, may I add, a perfect Valentine’s Day gift for the summer lover in your life.
