Hi there. I’m starting a new series today called “Remarkable Runways”. Now that fashion month is over for the Fall / Winter 2015 season, I want to share my personal favorite shows and presentations that I saw in New York and Milan.

It seems fitting to start by sharing with you the fabulous Giuseppe Zanotti collection, since he is opening a new store right here in Texas today! Dallas, to be exact. But don’t you worry, Houstonians… We will be getting our own store later this year!

The Collection:

As I mentioned in this post, over the past few years, I’ve been fortunate to become friends with the famed and fabulous Italian shoe designer Giuseppe Zanotti. I could go on and on about how wonderful he and his entire team are, but I’ll save that for another time.

Let’s talk shoes!

After designing for many legendary Italian design houses, Giuseppe launched his eponymous line in 1993. Though each collection is innovative and unique in its own right, the underlying theme remains true to who he is: elegant with an edge. This new collection for Fall / Winter 2015 certainly adheres to the spirit.

On the day of his presentation, I had the pleasure of walking around with him to get a personal tour of the collection. I absolutely loved hearing his thoughts regarding the collection — his inspiration, his favorite shoes, and more.

He has named this collection “AristoCrazy” : aristocratic + crazy. This collection is made for a bold, sophisticated women who is not afraid to be daring. These are certainly not made for a woman who wants to blend in to the crowd! The aristocratic elegance can be seen in the beautiful embellishments, luxurious fabrics, and exquisite craftsmanship. The rock and roll, edgy, craziness can be seen in the asymmetrical shapes of the shoes and the unexpected details.

Or, put more succinctly, as Giuseppe told me, “The aristocratic part is because I love beautiful things. The crazy part? Well, you know me, I always have to bring the crazy.”

And for the record, the beautiful shoe featured at the top of this post is his personal favorite from this AristoCrazy collection.

Giuseppe, we love you for your perfect mix of elegance and edge! Your designs are truly works of art.
