The Designer: Caroline Constas

It’s time for another installment of Designers I Dig. If you’ve been following along here for any length of time, you know that I love introducing you to emerging designers – those designers whom you really need to keep an eye on for their fresh, innovative designs.

Today’s focus: Caroline Constas. While you might not know the Canadian-born designer’s name, you likely have recently seen her work. Oprah Winfrey wore a lovely pinstripe off the shoulder top by Constas on the cover of the July issue of O, The Oprah Magazine. Prior to that, Harper’s Bazaar named her a designer to watch quickly after she first launched her eponymous line for Fall 2014.

Oozing sophistication and femininity, Constas’ collections reflect her love for travel. The pieces are ones that make you want to pack your bags for a getaway right now! The pieces also have a timeless appeal to them, with the classic fabrics like lace and pinstripe combined with quality craftsmanship. The designs err on the side of simplicity, veering away from overly embellished styles. She opts for simplicity instead, while still remaining unique.

Even the notorious fashion insider Man Repeller calls Caroline Constas a label to know. Man Repeller lauds the “wearable” nature of the designers that still have a sense of novelty that draws us all in.

Bonus styling tip #1: Did you see how this convertible piece doubles as both a top and a skirt? How cool is that?

Bonus styling tip #2: Are you wondering what you are going to do with all those off-the-shoulder tops you purchased this summer when it’s fall? Draw inspiration from Caroline Constas’ lookbook by layering a turtleneck or button down shirt underneath.

Her latest collection is full of pretty preppy pieces that stand out from the crowd. Here are a dozen of our favorite currently available Caroline Constas pieces. This red Lou off-the-shoulder lace top is definitely on our fall must have! Note that many of these are on sale.

Note that Caroline Constas pieces are hard to find. If you find something you like, I suggest snapping it up immediately. You can keep an eye out for her pieces at Shopbop, Intermix, and Shop Bazaar.
