Your Guide to Denver's Most Colorful Walls

Denver street art: 48 of Denver's most vibrant murals.

Your Guide to the Best Murals in Denver

We are thrilled to publish our sixth mural guide today! So far, we’ve canvased the following cities, documenting their street art scenes:

1 – Austin

2 – Dallas

3 – Houston: our largest, given that Houston is our hometown!

4 – Minneapolis

5 – New York City: particularly centered on the Soho area

Today, we add the mile high city to the mix! Yes, that’s right: it’s time to take you on a Denver graffiti tour.

Our mural guide series is one of our very favorites to put together for you, and it makes us so happy that you love it as much as we do. Continually, this series is the most popular on our site! And we believe this is for good reason… These walls are bringing people together across America! This free, public form of art is having a well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

A quick side note to thank my color hunting partner Maritere Rice… These mural guides would not be possible without her! Sure – her photography is featured here all the time. But for these mural guides, she goes above and beyond — researching, documenting, and chronicling all the best color walls around the country. So, thank you Mari!

As for Denver, I was really impressed by the Denver street art scene! Particularly, the the RiNo (River North) district blew me away. We found a vibrant community enjoying the arts, coffee shops (my favorite is Ink! Coffee), cafes (we really enjoyed Call), pubs (Our Mutual Friend Brewery is swoon-worthy!), and so much more. Plus, the area is just bursting with street art! So, when you visit Denver, do not miss out on this wonderful area.

In this mural guide, you’ll find original photos of almost fifty of Denver’s most colorful and vibrant murals. Plus, as always, we’ve included a handy dandy map to aid in your mural hunting endeavors.

Now, keep on scrolling for our Denver mural guide, and be sure to pass along to any of your color loving, travel loving, art loving friends!

Wall 4: Keep Smiling by David Shillinglaw

Address: 2625 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205 (in parking lot)

Note: This art is behind a fence at a business establishment, so you won’t be able to get up close and personal necessarily, but you can still enjoy the overall view of the art.

Note: This is in the alleyway near the parking lot of walls 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Wall 8: Orange, Blue, and Red Stencil Eyes by Ahol Sniffs Glue

Address: 2550 Larimer St, Denver, CO, 80205

Note: This one drew us in immediately with the sheer scale of it! The art wraps around both the east and north sides of this building.

Wall 10: Woman Mural by Michael Rodriguez

Address: 2701 Lawrence St #19, Denver, CO 80205

Wall 14: Boy and girl opposite directions mural by Jeremy Burns

Address: 2732 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Note: This one is like nothing we’ve ever seen before! You almost have to see it to believe it. From one angle, all of the different pillars come together create an image of a boy. And then from the other angle, all of the pillars come together to create an image of a girl. The composition of this is so intriguing!

Wall 15: Rainbow Prismatic Mural by Michael Ortiz

Address: 2750 Walnut st, Denver, CO 80205

Note: Not surprisingly, we were immediately drawn in by the bold colors and graphic lines of this one. Note that the mural wraps around the east side of one building to the south side of another along with the adjacent wooden fence.

Wall 16: ‘Be a good person’ mural

Address: 2810 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Wall 17: Colorful mural by Jeremy Burns for Our Mutual Friend Brewing Co.

Address: 2804 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Note: Have you ever seen a more colorful brewery? I think not! This neighborhood gathering spot definitely deserves a stop on your tour. Stop here, get a beer, take some photos, and strike up a conversation. The colorful art stretches from the front of the brewery (facing north) to the patio on the east.

Wall 25: Elephant mural

Wall 26: Parked colorful painted car

Address: 511 Broadway, Denver, CO 80203

Wall 27: Love This City Denver by Jason T. Graves, Pat Milbery, and the So-Gnar Group

Address: 2314 Broadway, Denver, CO 80205

Note: As far as we could determine, Pat Milbery is one of the most prolific artists in the Denver area. We loved all of his art! This one is of course iconic for its local love. Be aware that this is located in a parking lot. So during working hours, you might find cars parked there. That’s what happened to us, so I was unable to get a photo with the wall. Keep an eye on Pat’s Instagram, as he is local and is always adding street art to the Denver art scene.

Wall 28: Blue roses and orange and red flowers mural by Thomas Evans and Patrick Kane McGregor

Address: 1253 26th St, Denver, CO 80205

Note: Photos don’t necessarily even do this wall justice. It’s a beautiful ombre rainbow affect across a long wall that faces west. It’s directly across from the eye mural, mentioned as wall 8.

Wall 29: Graphics colorful mural at Ratio Beerworks by Blaine Fontana

Address: 2920 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Note: I first came upon Blaine Fontana’s art years ago in Portland. And I instantly recognized this as being his work. The art here was so striking, and the colors were particularly appropriate for fall. Plus, the staff were extraordinarily friendly.

Wall 42: Children’s colorful mural

Address: 2246 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80211

Wall 43: Dairy Block art by Like Minded Productions and by Chris Carlson

Address: 1812 Wazee St, Denver, CO 80202

Note: This new area is still somewhat under construction and development, but it appears to be a wonderful place for gathering around arts, food, and fun!

Wall 44: “Denver, you are so cool” by Mandy Hazell

Address: 1109 Lincoln St, Denver, CO 80203

Note: This cute wall is located on the backside of 11th Avenue Hostel.

Wall 45: Orange Denver skyline

Address: 1109 Lincoln St, Denver, CO 80203

Note: Finding this fun wall was a touch of luck, as it is simply located across the alleyway from wall 44.

Wall 46: Curious Theatre painted by a student collaboration

Address: 1080 Acoma St, Denver, CO 80204

Wall 47: Orange graphic building by David June for Garden Place Elementary

Address: 4425 Lincoln St, Denver, CO 80216

Wall 48: Hops mural at Odelle Brewing Company by Mona Caron

Address: 2945 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

Note: This lovely hops mural is located on the side of the brewery on a very narrow patio. So, while getting a straight on photo is nearly impossible, it’s still worth viewing and photographing at an angle.

    Great collection!

There used to be a mural on the side of a garage on 6th near Kalamath in Denver with a slice of pizza painted on it and it said “appreciate ya!”

It’s been painted over but I’m trying to find a photo of it… always made me smile.

    1. Ah, that sounds wonderful! The street art scene is always changing. Thanks for sto9pping by.
