Flashback to Super Bowl Weekend
Unless you’ve been living under a rock around here, you probably took note that Houston hosted the Super Bowl just a little more than a week ago. In fact, here on the website, in anticipation of the Super Bowl, we published a plethora of Houston city guides. Plus, if you follow along on Instagram, you may have seen that we attended Super Bowl parties all weekend.
Wheels Up Super Saturday Party
Well, without a doubt, my favorite party of the weekend was the Wheels Up Super Saturday party! In case you’re not familiar with Wheels Up, they are the premier private aviation company in the nation. Not surprisingly, relationship building is a big part of their company culture. And one fun way they do that is hosting amazing events for their members and friends.
And their Super Bowl party was no exception! They hosted the party on Saturday afternoon at Sawyer Yards, an emerging art district of Houston full of murals. Embracing the environment of art, they brought special guest James Goldcrown to town to live paint one of his signature love walls. Needless to say, I’m a big fan of James Goldcrown, so it was a pleasure to meet him and watch him work.
As if that wasn’t enough color, the Wheels Up team took it a step further… They called on their corporate partner Mercedes Benz to bring in their “skittles” G Wagons. Yes, skittles G Wagons are a real thing! Can you handle all the color?
Here’s just a sampling of (unedited) iPhone pics from the party… And yes, that is the man himself – J.J. Watt.
Thankfully, the Wheels Up team knows what a sucker I am for color and art, so they gave me a heads up on this colorful set up. So, of course, Mari and I took full advantage for a photo shoot. As for the outfit, you can get all the details below. This Alice + Olivia knit striped midi dress (also here) is going to be awesome for spring!
Thanks once again to our friends at Wheels Up for partnering on this photo shoot.
