Happy Monday to you all! I’m finishing this article early Monday morning from a Starbucks in SoHo before another busy day of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) gets under way.
Fashion Week has been a great experience so far. Collections that I’ve loved the most include Novis, Sachin & Babi, and Tibi. Spring / Summer 2017 trends seem to revolve around ballet-inspired, ladylike, pretty looks. And that direction excites me immensely!

Le Sarte Chambray Polka Dot Ruffle Shirt
If you followed along with my summer, you might have noticed that we spent a lot of family time in Aspen, Colorado. Aspen is a beautifully quaint mountain town. We just love it there! Not only is it naturally beautiful, but it has great shopping.
During our last summer getaway there, we did some shopping at the fabulous Intermix store. I just love the carefully curated selections at Intermix, and the Aspen store is particularly good.
Anyway, after doing quite a bit of shopping, I was in the process of checking out when this top caught my eye. I couldn’t resist! Let me express my love for this top as succinctly as I can. And in the process perhaps I’ll convince you of your need for it too. 😉
3 Reasons I Love This Top
- It’s practical. The chambray material makes it practical for every day. Chambray is such a wearable, down-to-earth option for us women on the go.
- It’s on trend. Bell sleeves are such a big trend this fall. This top incorporates this look, but in a not-too-over-the-top way. You’ll be on trend without going overboard with this piece.
- It’s fun. It’s polka dotted! Need I say more? Who doesn’t love polka dots? And these dots have a nice velour-like textural finish to them.
Bonus: a bow in back! If you weren’t yet convinced of your need for this, now certainly you are! This lady-like bow that ties in back at the neckline is just too cute!
So, give this practical, on trend, fun, ladylike top a chance to fit in your fall rotation. Chances are you’ll want to wear it over and over again like I do. One small note on sizing: I went up one size to give it a more relaxed fit for comfortable everyday wear.
