3 Holiday Hot Chocolate Recipes
By Bella Bucchiotti
When winter rolls around, it is time for warm beverages. And what’s better than hot chocolate on a cold winter’s night? But we, of course, aren’t talking about your run of the mill hot chocolate. That’s right – we’ve upped the hot chocolate game for you. Now is the time to brush up on hot chocolate recipes. These three hot chocolate recipes are so easy to make! Plus, they will look great in your favorite mug. Whether you snuggle by the fireplace or by the tree with your hot chocolate, the only question to be answered is which hot chocolate is your favorite?
Caramel Hot Chocolate
This hot chocolate recipe will satisfy all your cravings for sweet treats. Don’t scrimp on the toppings because they make this beverage look spectacular.

Double the Chocolate Hot Chocolate
Double the chocolate means double the taste – and double the fun, of course! We are quite certain that this is the super chocolate version that Buddy the Elf has each day at the North Pole.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups milk
- 1 Cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Toppings:
- Mini chocolate chips
- Whipping cream
Directions
First, heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Once milk is warm, stir in chocolate chips, and whisk until chocolate has melted. Then, just top with whipped cream and mini chocolate chips.
Peppermint White Chocolate Hot Chocolate
Now, if you are one who believes looks matter, then we have the hot chocolate for you… This is certainly the prettiest hot chocolate on the block! Don’t hide this drink in a ceramic mug because this one needs to be shown off in a glass mug. It has the prettiest pink punch!
Ingredients
- 2 Cups milk
- 1/2 Cup white chocolate chips
- 1 Tsp. peppermint extract
- Pink food coloring
Toppings:
- Peppermint marshmallows (or plain)
- Whipping cream
Directions
First, heat milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Once milk is warm, stir in chocolate chips, and whisk until chocolate has melted. Then, add a small amount of pink food coloring (start with 1 drop and go from there). Add peppermint, and stir to combine and put in serving cups. Finally, top with whipped cream and marshmallows.
