Friday Favorite Finds: 19 Must-Have Desk Accessories

Since moving into my new apartment, much of my time has been dedicated to interior decorating. I enjoy decorating my home to reflect my personality, whether it be my bedroom, bathroom, or living space.

However, I must admit that one of my favorite rooms to decorate is the office. Unfortunately, being in an apartment deprives me the luxury of having a designated room for a full office. Nevertheless, I’ve taken full advantage of my quaint desk area and the endless cute décor options I’ve discovered.

If you haven’t noticed by now, I’m an organizing geek. Yes, I have an abnormal obsession for all things neat. While I’m no professional organizer, I still thought I’d share some quick tips to help keep your desk pleasantly organized.

3 Tips for Organizing Your Desk 

1. Label Everything – Seriously, people, labeling makes the world go round. Invest in a label maker. Labels will keep you accountable for putting things back where they belong. Plus, it’s an easy way to brainwash people into thinking you’re some organizational guru.
2. Don’t clutter – I’m guilty of placing too many knick knacks on my desk. It’s easy for random things to accumulate on my desk. How did 5 water bottles end up on my desk? Who knows… Keep your desk clean as possible. You’ll thank yourself on those nights with a heavy workload. Your procrastinating self will use that messy desk to its advantage. And you’ll find yourself tidying your desk instead of working.
3. Keep it positive – You use your desk to do work, and work usually includes some stress. Decorate your desk with objects that are cheery and positive. I keep a family photo, a cat statue, and a small cactus on my desk. All 3 items make me smile, plus they don’t take up a lot of space (refer to #2)!
